What Is EDG

Enterprise Development Grant (EDG) is a financial assistance programme by Enterprise Singapore.

EDG supports projects that help you upgrade, innovate, grow and transform your business.

EDG funds qualifying project costs namely third-party consultancy fees, software and equipment, and internal manpower costs.

What We Provide

With in-house certified consultants, we provide consultancy services for both IT and Brand & Marketing solutions for SMEs.

What Are The Criteria

Eligibility Criteria:

Entity is Registered & Operating in Singapore for at least 3 years
At least 30% Local Equity held by Singaporean(s) and/or Singapore PR(s)
Group Annual Sales Turnover ≤ S$100m or ≤ 200 employees

Strategic Branding and Marketing Development

Elevate your brand and marketing offerings by implementing strategies that effectively connect with your target audience and expand your market presence.

Applicable Scope

  • Conducting a diagnosis and gap analysis within your company.
  • Evaluating internal and external factors, including strengths, weaknesses, and competitors.
  • Conducting primary or secondary research.
  • Providing recommendations and plans for implementation.
  • Developing a compelling brand strategy to attract targeted consumers and differentiate from competitors.
  • Assessing a brand’s financial value and identifying key brand drivers.
  • Creating a strategic plan to optimise marketing resources and enhance customer communications.

Not Applicable Scope

  • Production of corporate and/or marketing materials, such as brochures, videos, websites, photography, stock images, and copywriting.
  • Implementation of marketing or PR campaigns, including consultant retainer fees, advertising and media purchases, involvement of social media influencers, website/social media management, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), and Search Engine Marketing (SEM).

Applicable Scope

  • Adoption or development of advanced hardware and/or software solutions.
  • Implementation of solutions involving the procurement of machinery and integration of systems.
  • Staff training for the deployment of solutions.
  • Resource optimization projects with specified projected quantitative improvements in resource efficiency, including the reduction of:
    – Carbon emissions (tCO2e)
    – Energy consumption (kWh or kJ)
    – Waste generation (tons)
    – Water consumption (l or cm3)

Not Applicable Scope

  • Initial setup costs essential for starting a business.
  • Costs related to equipment and devices, such as copiers, laptops, tablets, and mobile phones.
  • Expenses for equipment and software are covered under the Productivity Solutions Grant (PSG).
  • Replacement or addition of solutions with minimal changes to resource efficiency and no development of new capabilities, unless part of a larger integrated system enhancing resource efficiency.
  • Replacement of faulty solutions or equipment.
  • Installation of conventional, operational, and off-the-shelf solutions, appliances, or devices (e.g., energy-saving LED lighting, solar panels).

  • Review and/or creation of performance metrics.
  • Establishment of a tracking and measurement system.
  • Development of a comprehensive action roadmap for further enhancements.
  • Assessment of resource consumption with identification of areas for improvement.

    Innovate and create cutting-edge technology and products with the ultimate objective of commercialization, encompassing sustainable products, services, and solutions.

    Applicable Scope

    • Evaluation of market viability.
    • Formulation of a product roadmap and identification of proposed functionalities.
    • Demonstration of market validation.
    • Creation of a comprehensive commercialization plan.
    • Examination of intellectual property considerations, including IP/Trade Secrets protection, IP strategy, and Freedom to Operate analysis.
    • Development of prototypes and small batch production, where applicable.
    • Definition of sustainable products/services, which may include designs that are:
      – more durable or energy/resource-efficient
      – reparable
      – recyclable or
      – prioritised recycled materials; and products/services facilitating third parties in enhancing their sustainability performance

    • Development of the initial product.
